Review of Skybet Markets
When it comes to sport, Sky is the biggest name in the United Kingdom, covering all kinds of different events on their many television channels. This massive scope also extends to the huge amount of different sport markets that they have on their gambling site, therefore meaning that there is something for everyone. The sports that they offer markets for are:
American football, Aussie rules, baseball, basketball, boxing, cricket, cycling, darts, football, formula one, golf, greyhound racing, handball, horse racing, ice hockey, MMA, Olympic sports, rugby league, rugby union, snooker, tennis, volleyball and winter sports. They also have a section on the left hand side of the page that will take you to certain popular tournaments, such as the Premier League and the Heineken Cup.
As can be seen, if you can find the sport to watch on Sky Sports, then the chances are you will also be able to find a market for it on this site. Sky have used their considerable resources to provide one of the most comprehensive list of sports around, as well as to make sure that all of the sports covered are covered in great depth. This means that from low league encounters through to World Cup matches, you will be able to find what you are looking for here.
As you would expect from a site of this size, Skybet also offers a comprehensive in-play section, which means that you are able to place bets as the event is being played out. Odds are constantly updated on this feature and it is offered for nearly all matches that are ongoing, regardless of the sport.
The live menu can be found right in the middle of the homepage, with details of the match and the number of different bets that are being offered. Once an event is selected you’ll be presented with a console where the live score is at the top, odds below, a graphic displays the current state of play and clicking the stats icon in the top right switches to match stats – all boxes ticked here, we’re impressed.
To be honest there are better live options out there. For the top two check out our Bet365 review or our BetVictor review.
Live Streaming on Skybet
Given that Sky have the television rights to pretty much every sport worth watching you’d think they’d have a pretty stellar live streaming section… well unfortunately you’d be wrong.
In fact they recently reduced their live streaming service and now only offer UK and Irish horse racing. You must bet at least £1 per race to watch.
All in all it’s vastly disappointing and when you compare them to Bet365 who stream over 10,000 events per year on top of horse racing it doesn’t look great. We’ve been forced to downgrade Skybet as a result here. Click the previous link to read our Bet365 review if live streaming is important to you – you’ll be looked after there.
In order to attract more and more players to the site, Skybet regularly runs promotions that give either great odds or free bets to people. Listed below are the promotions that the site is running right now:
£20 Free Bet (Any Sport) – As soon as you register for the site and bet £5 at odds of even money (2.0) or more you will be given two £10 free bet tokens to place on any sport that you like.
SkyBet Club (Any Sport) – stake a total of £25 on bets which have odds of 2.0 or greater before midnight on Sunday of any given week and SkyBet will credit your account with a £5 free bet. If you miss a week you need to stake £40 to get back in.

Review – B Rating
After conducting our Skybet review we felt that they were worth no more than 3.5 stars out of 5. They are an honest bookie and financially secure but their service lacks live streaming and there’s only really one promotion currently running which sets them apart from the rest.
A 3.5 star bookmaker is classified as a ‘safe and decent place to bet but somewhere which lacks long term value’ and right now we think that’s a fair assessment of Skybet. However the SkyBet Club is going some distance to getting them promoted and if they add a couple more attractive promotions we might well upgrade them in out bookmakers review section.
They do offer a £20 free bet to all new customers which is a nice gesture and it’s in the form of a 400% bonus as you only need to deposit £5 – this scores well with us and in our opinion makes them worth joining.
